What one kind deed can do

It was so hard for her to share about her childhood. Her father was an alcoholic and a violent man. He spent most of their money on alcohol. He came home drunk almost every night and would regularly beat up his children and wife. They had very little furniture because her father would go on a drunken rampage and destroy most of it. They lived in a little shack outside of town and the only people that came by were those who left a small sack of groceries on the front porch after dark. Her clothes consisted of a few worn out hand me down dresses. One evening a lady came by from a nearby church and invited her to go to Sunday school with her next Sunday. She went with that nice lady and at Sunday School she began to learn about God and the Bible. By the age of 13 she realized that Jesus loved her very much and that He died on the cross for her, so she could have her sins forgiven and the hope of a new life (a new relationship to God). That year she put her faith in Jesus Christ (she asked him to be her savior and lord) John 3:15&36, 10:28, 14:6. (A major turning point in her life). A few years later she met a young Christian man, they became sweethearts, and when she turned 16 they were married (Another turning point).  She said for the first time in her life she had a warm house (with love) to live in and enough food to eat. Years have passed but with her faith in Christ, a faithful Christian husband, local church attendance, and the help of Christian friends she has a happy life. If you are having problems today (no matter how terrible), remember Jesus is the answer. Why not give Sunday School and Church a try next Sunday. Brother J
